Terms & Conditions

Blast Equality Collab (the "Organization," "we," "us," or "our"), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to leadership through officiating. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at https://www.blastequalitycollab.org (the "Site"), our nonprofit programs, events, referee training, and related services. ref-ology serves as our valued collaboration partner providing coaching for referees assigned through our programs. By accessing the Site, registering for events, or participating in Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in adult programs or referee training. For youth programs, a parent or legal guardian must register and agree to these Terms on behalf of the minor (“Student Referees”). By registering, you confirm you have the authority to bind yourself or the minor.

2. Programs and Events

Referee Training, Leadership Programs: Our nonprofit Services include officiating training, game-day experiences, and leadership development through sports. ref-ology coaches provide mentorship for referees assigned by Blast Equality Collab. Participation is at your own risk.

Referee Assigning:  You understand and agree that if you sign up to be assigned as a referee (“Referee”), you will be assigned for recreational, youth, and pro-level games. Student Referees can register to officiate youth games, which will require parent or authorized guardian consent.

Schedules and Changes: We may cancel or modify events due to weather, safety, or other reasons. No refunds unless specified.

All programs may involve physical activity. You assume all risks of injury, illness, or property damage.

3. Independent Contractor

In the event you participate as a Referee or Student Referee, you understand that you will be an independent contractor of Blast Equality Collab. You are not an employee of Blast Equality Collab, nor an employee of any of the teams, leagues, or tournaments we service. This Agreement shall not be construed to create any association, partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between yourself and Blast Equality Collab for any purpose. You shall not have any authority to enter into contracts that bind us or create obligations on the part of Blast Equality Collab. Without limiting the foregoing, you shall not be eligible to participate in any benefits offered by Blast Equality Collab. We will not be responsible for withholding or paying any income, payroll, Social Security, or other federal, state, or local taxes, making any insurance contributions, including for unemployment or disability, or obtaining workers’ compensation insurance on your behalf. Furthermore, you are not covered by any Blast Equality Collab insurance, nor are you covered by workers' compensation.

4. Liability Waiver, Release, and Indemnification

In consideration of being permitted to participate as a Referee, Student Referee, or participant in any and all programs, events, referee training, or workshops ("Activities") coached by ref-ology and or Blast Equality Collab, I, for myself, my heirs, personal representatives, and assigns, hereby:

RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE Blast Equality Collab (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit) and ref-ology, their directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, ref-ology coaches, facilities used, and assigns (collectively "Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, including negligence, resulting in personal injury, death, illness, accidents, property damage, or loss sustained by me while participating in Activities or on premises/transportation to/from Activities.

VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISKS inherent to sports officiating and leadership training, including but not limited to physical contact, falls, equipment failure, or actions of other participants.

AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS Released Parties from any claims, actions, suits, costs, expenses, damages, liabilities, and attorney fees arising from my participation.

5. Media Release and Publicity Consent

I consent to Blast Equality Collab taking photographs, video recordings, audio, or electronic representations ("Images") during Activities. I grant a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, edit, publish, distribute, exhibit, or alter these Images for nonprofit promotional, educational, or fundraising purposes. I waive any right to compensation or approval and release Released Parties from liability related to such use.

6. Payments and Cancellation Policy

Program fees and donations support our 501(c)(3) mission and are non-refundable, including Virtual Meeting Registrations. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.

Referees: Referees pay an annual, non-refundable assigning fee that renews yearly.

Training participants: Pay monthly or annual fees for ref-ology access through Mighty Networks. Monthly memberships can be cancelled anytime; annual memberships are partially refundable. ref-ology may offer separate in-person or virtual workshops with separate fees and non-refundable deposit. 

7. Uniform Fees

Unless otherwise agreed between you and Blast Equality Collab, you are responsible for all uniform fees. 

8. Intellectual Property

The Site and materials (logos, content, videos) are property of Blast Equality Collab, a 501(c)(3) or licensed to us. You may not copy, distribute, or use commercially without permission.

9. User Content

By submitting content (e.g., testimonials, photos), you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use it for our nonprofit promotional and fundraising purposes.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability shall not exceed fees or donations paid by you. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

Privacy Policy

Blast Equality Collab, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit the Site, register for Services, or engage with our mission-driven programs (including those supported by ref-ology coaching collaboration).

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information: Name, email, phone, age, address (for registrations/events); payment/donation details (via third-party processors).

Usage Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited (via cookies/analytics).

Program Data: Referee experience, skill level, feedback forms.

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide nonprofit Services (e.g., event registration, training coordination with ref-ology coaches).

  • Communicate mission updates, newsletters, or fundraising opportunities (you can opt out).

  • Improve programs and analyze community impact.

  • Comply with legal obligations and 501(c)(3) reporting.

3. Sharing Information

We do not sell your data. We share with:

  • Service providers (e.g., payment processors, email tools).

  • ref-ology as our referee coaching partner for assigned referees only.

  • Legal authorities if required. All recipients are bound by confidentiality.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies for functionality and analytics (e.g., Google Analytics). Manage preferences via browser settings.

5. Your Rights

Access, correct, or delete your data.

Opt out of marketing emails.

California residents: Rights under CCPA (e.g., opt-out of sale, though we don't sell data).

6. Security

We use reasonable safeguards (encryption, access controls), but no system is fully secure.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Site is not for children under 13. For youth programs, we collect guardian consent.

8. Third-Party Links

Links to external sites (e.g., ref-ology) have their own policies.

9. Changes

We may update this Policy. Check the Site for the latest version.
